Welcome to my blog! I’m Howard Wang, a Computer Science student at the University of Waterloo specializing in AI with a minor in Statistics (class of 2028).
I’ve had the chance to work on some exciting things so far — from building ETL pipelines and ML models at Bayes Fintech (RockWallet) in Toronto, to developing microservices and e-commerce systems at Keyrus in Shanghai. I’m passionate about backend systems, distributed computing, and applied machine learning.
What to expect
I plan to write about:
- Backend engineering and distributed systems (Go, microservices, message queues)
- Machine learning in production (RAG, LLMs, data pipelines)
- Cloud infrastructure and DevOps (AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
- Algorithm problem-solving and competitive programming
- Co-op experiences and lessons from the tech industry
Stay tuned for more posts!
